Jeff Nelson is an outstanding addition to the Spiral Volleyball coaching faculty. His experience as a coach for women’s, men’s, and beach volleyball programs at collegiate, international, and professional levels, as well as his own experience as a player, add depth to our volleyball coaching team.
Nelson graduated from Ball State University where he led his team to the Final Four. After graduating from Ball State with a degree in Exercise Science, he embarked on his coaching career as Assistant Coach and then Head Coach for numerous programs. He was the Head Coach at New Mexico, the University of San Francisco, Texas Tech University, UNM Beach Volleyball, and the Minnesota Monarchs of the MVL Pro League. In addition, he has coached club volleyball which resulted in several players making the Junior National Team; his teams achieved top three finishes at Nationals. He also served as the Assistant Coach for the Boys Junior National Team in 1991 and Head Coach in 1992.
