Kirstin Gregg
16's
A local product, Kirstin Gregg brings great experience as a player and a coach. Kirstin played her high school volleyball at McClintock High School in Tempe where she was coached by fellow Sprial 16-1’s head coach Molly West. Molly introduced Kirstin to club volleyball and Kirstin went on to play for Arizona Juniors for three years as a middle blocker. A raw talent during high school, Kirstin was actively recruited by universities around the United States but decided to remain in Arizona; she gladly accepted a four-year athletic scholarship to play middle blocker for her home town at Arizona State University. Surrounded by great college coaches and standout players, Kirstin was able to excel in the middle and holds spots in the career records books for blocking at Arizona State. A two-time team captain while at Arizona State, Kirstin was recruited to play volleyball professionally in Europe. Kirstin played one season in Austria and then one season in Portugal before her career was ended due to a knee injury.
Kirstin brings to Spiral several years of coaching experience at the high school and club levels. Kirstin has coached club volleyball for AZ Juniors, East Valley, AZ Foothills, and most recently assisted in coaching last season’s nationally qualified Spiral 16-1 team. She was the Varsity Coach at Tempe High School for three years (2003-2006), and she took her team to its first State appearance in over 12 years. Kirstin spent three years as Varsity Coach at Chandler’s Perry High School where she had the opportunity to build a volleyball program from the ground up.
In her two years with Spiral Volleyball Club, both of her 16-1 teams qualified for the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics in the National division.
