Patrick Mooney

Pat Mooney brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Spiral Volleyball. Currently, as the Head Coach at South Mountain Community College, Pat is in his 14th season as a collegiate coach. During the past three years at SMCC the Cougars graduated five Academic All-Americans and last year sent four players to the university level to continue their playing careers. During the ten years he coached at Phoenix College, he sent 28 athletes to universities to continue their volleyball careers, produced nine Academic All-American Teams, 22 NJCAA Academic All-Americans, five Athletic All-Americans, and several ACCAC All-Region athletes. Pat’s teams made the playoffs six times and twice finished third in the conference. His team finished fourth in the nation in 1999. In addition, Coach Mooney has coached club volleyball for 15 years. In 2008 he was the Assistant Coach to the Arizona Region International Youth High Performance team that won Arizona’s first gold medal at the High Performance Championships in Tucson. Most recently, his Arizona Region Select team won a bronze medal at the 2011 High Performance Championships.
Pat has coached with Spiral Volleyball Club since its inception in 2009 and all of his teams have qualified to play in the USA Volleyball National Championships:

2010: 17 American Division
2011: 17 National Division (5th place)
