Kathryn DiPanfilo
Kathryn . . . aka Coach K . . . joins Spiral Volleyball Club for the 2010 season. Kathryn earned four varsity volleyball letters while attending Soldotna High School (Soldotna, AK) and Artesia High School (Artesia, NM). During her senior campaign, she was awarded All-District, All-State, and was a member of the New Mexico North-South 3A-4A-5A All-Star team. She chose to continue her career at Springfield College in Springfield, MA. While at Springfield she was a four-year varsity letter winner as a setter and as an opposite. During her freshman year she worked for the Springfield College Men's Volleyball Program under the direction of Charlie Sullivan. Kathryn became involved in coaching through two local club programs, Husky Volleyball Club (Hartford, CT) in 2005 and 2006, and Mass Patriots (Quincy, MA) in 2007. She graduated from Springfield College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. Kathryn then attended the University of New Mexico to obtain her Master's degree. While attending UNM, Kathryn was a volunteer coach for Carrizozo High School during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. One of her primary duties while working with Carrizozo was strength and conditioning and nutrition. In 2008 Kathryn also worked for the Mountain West Conference as an official scorekeeper and line judge. Kathryn graduated from UNM in 2009 with a Master of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Administration.
As the daughter of a successful volleyball and basketball coach, Kathryn has a passion for coaching and working with student-athletes. Her focus is in the establishment and building of fundamentals. She also concentrates on strength and conditioning and nutrition as they are imperative to the success of young athletes. Kathryn comes to Spiral Volleyball Club with great enthusiasm since she will have the opportunity to work with Arizona's future volleyball standouts.
