Lamar-Renee Bryant was a standout student athlete at Corona del Sol high school in Tempe, AZ where she was a three year Varsity volleyball player. Her honors include two-year MVP and Captain, named to United Dairymen's All American, All Region MVP, All Arizona Player, and Aztec Player of the Year. While at Corona, Lamar-Renee was also a starter for the '93 State Championship Basketball team. After high school, Lamar-Renee earned an athletic scholarship to University of Memphis and transferred after completing her freshman year to Morgan State University. Morgan State won back- to-back conference championships '97 & '98 and appeared in the NCAA for the first two times in the school’s history. In 1998, Lamar-Renee earned the prestigious Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholars award that recognizes academic excellence and community activism as well as athletic prowess.
In addition to Lamar-Renee's athletic accomplishments, she is also a National Honor Society Member, graduated Cum Lade from Morgan State, and earned a Master of Science in Sports Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, OH. For the last six years Lamar-Renee has coached Junior Varsity volleyball for Xavier College Prep (XCP) with an impressive record of (99-3). XCP is the reigning three-time 5I Division State Champion. This will begin Lamar-Renee Bryant’s 12th year as a volleyball coach and first season with Spiral Volleyball Club.
